The West African Action Network on Small Arms- Nigeria (WAANSA-NIGERIA) is the National movement against gun violence, linking civil society organizations working to stop the proliferation and misuse of small arms and light weapons.
We do not Endorse, promote or oppose political parties, candidates or platforms. Waansa Nigeria is a voluntary non-governmental, non-profit making, non-partisan in politics and religion, charitable organization dedicated to the promotion of peace, unity and harmony in Nigeria, Africa and among the nations and regions of the world. The organization functions as a catalyst, and think-tank for public policy input. Through research, advocacy and campaigning, WAANSA-NIGERIA members are promoting local, national, regional and global measures to stop illegal Arms

To reduce the proliferation of Small Arms And Light Weapons (SALW), the threat they pose and the damage they cause.

Our vision is to prevent, manage violent conflict through public enlightenment and sensitization in Nigeria and globally.

To stop illegal circulation of SALW
To create a Nigeria where everyone would understand the impact of SALW abuse
To stop the illegal importation of SALW
Arrange for safe disposal of excess stockpiles of Small Arms and Light Weapons under state control
